SoftVision® Braille is a vision-based system for quality control and inspection of Braille on carton packaging. The system enables fast and reliable verification of Braille dots without any sample preparation, allowing the entire capsule to be placed directly on the measuring surface. Using advanced 3D sensor technology with stereo cameras and blue LED structured light, the system ensures highly accurate measurement of Braille dot height and structure.
The system automatically retrieves job information from the customer’s ERP system and compares the measured Braille against the original artwork provided as a PDF file. It verifies that the correct characters are present, ensures no extra dots or characters exist, and checks compliance with ISO 17351 Marburg Medium standards.
SoftVision® Braille guides the operator through the inspection process, including reading order for multiple panels, and simplifies setup through an integrated barcode scanner. Inspection results are clearly presented on screen, highlighting deviations, and detailed reports can be generated, signed, and stored for traceability. The system also includes a built-in requalification function to ensure consistent measurement accuracy over time, while its compact design allows easy placement directly at the production line.
