MAXAGV’s roots and history goes as far back as to the 1970s and Volvo Kalmar in Sweden where the automotive industry first began to use Automatic Guided Vehicles (AGVs).

The privately owned AGV company Atab is formed with a management, design and production team from the previous employer. Joint-venture with Soft Design formed.
SoftDesign develops Max Software and Sonix AGV controller unit.
Atab acquires legacy system rights to 10 000+ AGVs made in Sweden from previous owner.
SoftDesign develops Max 3D real time visualization.
Max mobile robot system with optional integrated WMS. New launch of CX and FX AGV range.
SoftDesign and Atab win pharmaceutical AGV project.
SoftDesign and Atab deepens AGV collaboration and launch MAXAGV brand. The companies also win a major petro-chemical AGV project.
With an already strong presence on the European market, MAXAGV continues global expansion to Asian markets.
MAXAGV wins major contract with leading UK luxury car manufacturer.
MAXAGV moves to a new and larger HQ and factory.
Further global expansion to Australia by signing of new partner agreement.
