One of the major challenges faced by healthcare facilities is the transportation of essential materials such as food, linen, pharmaceuticals, beverages, dialysis supplies, medical waste, and general waste. Ensuring that these items reach their intended destinations 24/7, it is essential to avoid extensive downtime and additional costs. Operating 365 days a year, is a complex task that requires seamless coordination to preventdisruption to daily hospital operations. Moreover, hospital corridors are often shared spaces with staff, patients, and other traffic, necessitating a solution that integrates smoothly
without posing safety risks or causing congestion. The installation of such a system must also require minimal infrastructure modifications.
The Solution
The solution was to implement an advanced fleet of 25 Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) designed to handle hospital logistics with precision and reliability. The AGVs service 31 lobbies across 9 floors, utilizing 14 dedicated lifts for seamless transportation between levels. Operating continuously, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, these AGVs effectively replace multiple manual shifts, significantly reducing human labor costs and increasing efficiency. Equipped with state-of-the-art onboard safety sensors, the vehicles are capable of navigating busy hospital environments without causing personal injury or damage to payloads and infrastructure.
